Driver Dies As Bus Collide With Truck On Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

An auto crash has reportedly claimed the lives of at least eleven persons on the Enugu-Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway in Abia State, News About Nigeria reports. 

The devastating incident took place on Sunday, near Umuika Junction on the Enugu-Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway.

Two babies were said to be part of those who lost their lives in the crash.

The road crash happened at about 12:45 pm happened when a Sienna car belonging to Abia Line Network crashed with a loaded truck.

An eyewitness, who gave his name as Ochiegbu Marvelous, told ABN TV, that the driver slept off on the steering, lost control, and collided with a truck before crashing into a nearby bush.

The eyewitness stated that the devastating impact resulted in the loss of eleven lives, including two infants and injuring of other travellers.

As of the time of filing the report, authorities of the Abia State Police Command and the Federal Road Safety Corps have yet to comment on the development.
