Sex workers in Kano State have decried the low turnout of customers they now have due to the ongoing #Endbadgovernance protest and the curfew imposed by the state government.
While lamenting the impact of the demonstration on their business, the sex workers called on protesters to dialogue with the federal government.
This, according to them, is so that things can return to normal, allowing them to fully resume their business.
Speaking with newsmen, one of the sex workers, Monica James, who operates on France Road, urged the protesters to dialogue with the FG as it was the only option to address their grievances.
“I have not eaten for two days because of the curfew; our customers are nowhere to be found,” she said.
Also, another sex worker, Caroline James, who operates from a brothel on Enugu Street in Sabon Gari, noted that the violence that broke out during the protest and the curfew that was subsequently imposed by the Kano government negatively affected their business.
Giving details on this, she revealed that she had booked clients who were willing to pay between N30,000 and N40,000, but they were unable to keep their appointments due to the tension and curfew.
She, therefore, appealed to the protesters to embrace dialogue, as it is the solution to the challenge.
News About Nigeria reports that the ongoing nationwide protest, which is currently on day 8, started on August 1, 2024.
The nationwide action is geared towards ensuring that the government meets the demands of Nigerians by eradicating the current hunger and other economic challenges the people are suffering from.
