Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has assured the nation that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deeply cares for Nigerians and is committed to addressing the economic hardships they face, News About Nigeria reports.
Her remarks came during a courtesy visit to the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, as detailed in a statement by her Media Aide, Busola Kukoyi, on Tuesday.
Mrs. Tinubu expressed confidence in her husband’s ability to navigate the country’s challenges effectively.
“I assure you that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will do well for this country. He loves Nigeria, he loves Nigerians, and will do the best for them,” she said.
Oba Akiolu echoed the First Lady’s sentiments, urging Nigerians to be patient with the current administration.
“All that I am saying and appealing is that we should pray for Nigeria and the president. We should be patient. Everything good needs prayers,” the Oba stated.
In a previous address in March, Oluremi Tinubu praised the positive impact of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Women Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Abuja, she said that the initiatives under this agenda are beginning to bear fruit, particularly benefiting women and communities.
Represented by Mrs. Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi, Mandate Secretary for Women Affairs in the Federal Capital Territory, the First Lady pointed out the improving economic situation.
“The Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu right now is offloading a number of initiatives bringing succour and providing humanitarian services to the elderly, women, communities, and the girl-child,” she noted.
Oluremi Tinubu also called on women to serve as beacons of hope and unity, advocating for their role in national healing and development.
“It is important for women to work together, and we must see ourselves playing the role of healing our nation. Do not be distracted by the current challenges but focus on the assignment of promoting equity, equal rights, and righteousness,” she added.
She encouraged women to remain steadfast and serve as examples of faith and resilience.
“Women are light and must always stand as light and shine whether in the church or in the mosque; we must stand as women of faith,” the First Lady concluded.
