Obaseki Meets PDP Leaders To Strategise For Edo Governorship Election

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has dismissed the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Samuel Alli, with immediate effect, News About Nigeria reports.

The Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie, announced the decision on Monday through an official statement.

“The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has approved the disengagement of the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Samuel Alli, with immediate effect,” Ogie stated.

The announcement did not specify the reasons behind Dr. Alli’s dismissal.

He has been instructed to hand over all government documents and resources in his possession to the most senior civil servant within the Ministry of Health.

Governor Obaseki remains determined to achieve his administration’s goals in the remaining four months of his tenure, Ogie said.

“The governor is resolute on his finishing strong objective and will remove any obstacles that may hinder optimal service delivery to the people in the remaining four months of his administration. The government thanks Dr. Alli for his service and wishes him well in his future endeavors,” Ogie concluded.

In a related development, Governor Obaseki has appointed Dr. Roland Igbinoba as Special Adviser on Special Projects.

Igbinoba is expected to support the government in expediting the completion of various developmental projects across the state.

Meanwhile, Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah has dismissed the Chairperson of the Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB), Gabriel Ajah.

The state’s Commissioner for Information and Communication, Aka Aka, announced Ajah’s removal, citing a “minor” reshuffle within the board without providing specific reasons for the dismissal.

Ajah has been replaced by Hyginus Bankho, a former board member, while another board member, Amaka Ngene, has been reassigned to chair the Science, Technical, and Vocational Schools Management Board.
