A lifestyle blogger, Diary of a Naija Girl, popularly called Ife, has come under fire for calling off her engagement two months to the wedding, News About Nigeria reports.
She disclosed this via her verified handle on X on Sunday, in response to a tweet, advising people not to be scared of breaking off their engagement if the relationship does not feel right.
She disclosed that she had broken off her engagement, despite that so many logistics for the wedding had been paid for, including the wedding hall, a popular comedian and musician, among other things.
According to her, she was getting married for the wrong reasons and just couldn’t continue with it, adding that it was the best decision of her life.
“Broke off my engagement two months to the wedding. Hall paid for, popular comedian paid for, part payment for popular musician paid for. Vera Wang wedding dress paid for. Broke things off without thinking of all of that and returned everyone’s aso ebi money. I was getting married for the wrong reasons and I just couldn’t continue. I made one of the best decisions of my life,” she stated.
However, netizens reacting to this, have slammed the lifestyle blogger and business owner over her disclosure, with many of them labelling her as evil and wicked for ditching her fiance.
