Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality star Erica Nlewedim has said that Nigerians are not people to share good news with.
The actress said this in light of recent drama following the wedding of popular Nollywood actress, Sharon Ooja to her sweetheart, Ugo Nwoke.
News About Nigeria reported that Sharon Ooja, who got married traditionally yesterday (Thursday), has been in the news after a blogger, Stella Dimokokorkus, revealed that she is the fourth wife of her newlywed husband.
The blogger had alleged that Sharon’s husband is a divorcee who has been married three times. She also listed the women as a white woman and two black women.
Although Sharon Ooja’s best friend, Bisola Aiyeola, came to her defence, netizens have gone ahead to dig up and prove that, indeed, Sharon is not Nwoke’s first wife.
The netizens were able to dig up pictures of Sharon’s husband’s former marriage, along with evidence of his divorce in 2019.
Sharon has, however, yet to respond to any of the drama, but netizens have been supportive of her, as they believe that a divorcee can still remarry and have a happy home.
Speaking on the matter in a post on her official X account, Erica Nlewedim noted that, at this rate, she would just announce that she’s married because Nigerians are not people to share good news with.
Her post reads, “At this rate i will just let u know I’m married, cos Nigerians are not people to share your good news with.”
Reacting to her post on X, @Hybrid_Ola wrote, “Just update the name on your bio and add a ring. Bloggers don’t like good news.”
Another X user, @Grachidex said, “Fr they’ll do everything within their power to make you feel bad about your good news.”
Also, @Blackgirlie1 wrote, “But you guys as public figures no matter how hard you try to hide it there’s always one bad belle in the cliq, gang, team or family that will leak it. All these unnecessary info’s should tell you it’s coming from an insider o.”
