Mr Ibu: Nollywood Actor Finally Laid To Rest In Enugu

The burial of late Nollywood actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, is ongoing in his hometown of Amuri, in the Nkanu Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The actor, who is survived by his wife and children, died at the age of 62 after a prolonged illness, which led to the amputation of one of his legs.

News About Nigeria recalls that the veteran actor died earlier this year after battling health issues.

The internet went into mourning after the president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, confirmed his demise.

Known for his comedic prowess and memorable roles, Mr Ibu’s demise has left a void in the hearts of many who grew up watching his films and admiring his talent.

The actor’s ongoing burial ceremony in Enugu State saw an outpouring of grief, with attendees reflecting on Mr Ibu’s legacy and the impact he had on both the industry and the lives of those who knew him.

Also, clips and videos shared on X showed family and friends sorrowfully mourning the deceased actor.

Reacting to his burial on X, @Greatpeter02 wrote, “May his soul continue to rest in peace. It’s a great loss.”

Another X user, @Goldbrowneyez wrote, “I was watching @PeterPsquare and @rudeboypsquare video #Bankalert yesterday, and seeing Mr Ibu in that video brought back many memories. We will surely miss him. I particularly love his dance steps. I smiled from the beginning to the end of the video.”
