Special Assistant to former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has declared that the traditional marriage ceremony of Afrobeats singer, Davido, to his heartthrob, Chioma, was a gathering of wealth and the wealthy, News About Nigeria reports.

He made this declaration in a statement via his verified handle on X on Wednesday.

He noted that the wedding ceremony is a clear difference of what it means to be wealthy and be a celebrity.

Omokri stated that the wedding was able to shut down Nigeria and break the internet because, it was not just a wedding of celebrities, but, of wealthy people.

According to him, when people have celebrity status, they will be celebrated but not necessarily elevated, but when they have celebrity and wealth, they will be celebrated and elevated.

“Davido’s traditional wedding to Chioma yesterday offers us the opportunity to learn the difference between wealth and celebrity. Why did the wedding shut down Nigeria and break the Internet? I don’t want to offend people, but celebrities have been getting married before today, and we have never seen such an effect. The key difference this time around is wealth. When you have celebrity status, you will be celebrated but not necessarily elevated. But when you have celebrity and wealth, you will be celebrated and elevated,” he stated.

He, therefore, urged people to focus on making money and not just being a celebrity.

“So the moral of the story is this: Focus on making money, not just on being a celebrity. Because, when you have serious money, you are automatically a celebrity, but you do not automatically have money just because you are a celebrity,” he added.

Recall that the sensational musician got married traditionally on Tuesday in the presence of his family, friends and we’ll wishers.

The wedding saw the attendance of several influential personalities in the country and has remained the talk of the town.
