Farooq Oreagba Credits Ex-Wife For Cancer Diagnosis

Farooq Oreagba, an investment banker and the Managing Director of NG Clearing Limited, recently shared how his ex-wife played a crucial role in discovering his osteosarcoma (bone cancer).

In an interview with Arise TV, Oreagba recounted the life-changing moment, praising his ex-wife, a doctor, for her vigilance and care.

“I tell you this, my ex-wife is a wonderful person. I get emotional, she’s a wonderful person. She is a doctor. I was a bit of a rascal but she always looks out for me. Always. I was not feeling ill. I flew to England for her birthday. How many people go to their ex-wife’s birthdays? Well, I do. I flew to her birthday,” Oreagba said.

Despite having remarried at the time, Oreagba maintained a close relationship with his ex-wife. During his visit for her birthday, she insisted on performing a quick checkup before he boarded his return flight.

A week later, she called him with the results.

“She said she got the result of my test. I said, What test? She said that the results indicate that there is a high possibility of malignant activity. I asked what was that and she said I’ve got cancer. That was how it started.

“I was lucky, I was in stage one. I could have gone on for another two or three years. By the time I found out, it would have been too late and it would have been a different matter,” Oregba explained.

Oreagba was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in 2014 and underwent a bone marrow transplant in August of the same year.

He has been in remission since then and no longer requires chemotherapy.

Recently, Oreagba garnered widespread acclaim for his “steeze” and “composure” at the Ojude Oba festival, where he was seen mounted on a horse with a big cigarette, black sunglasses, and sleeve tattoos.

The viral photos led netizens to crown him “the king of steeze” and the best dressed at the festival.
