Woman In Tears After Discovering N22,000 Instead Of N1 Million In Piggy Bank

A woman has taken to social media to express her distress after discovering a mere N22,000 in her piggy bank, known locally as a ‘kolo,’ despite claiming to have saved N20,000 daily for the past two years, News About Nigeria reports.

In a video circulating widely online, the distraught lady is seen weeping while her mother, equally upset, cries in the background.

The woman explained that she had been diligently saving between N20,000 and N30,000 each day in the box.

Expecting to find over N1 million, she was shocked to find only N22,000.

Displaying the money and the box, she lamented: “See, I’ve been saving money for like two years now. It has been long. I’ve been putting over N20,000, N30,000 at a go. My mind just said I should check this ‘kolo’ this evening. This is what I saw. I’m in pain. I swear all of them will hear tomorrow. Any worker in this house will hear tomorrow, I don’t want to know anything.”

Her mother corroborated her story, insisting that the savings should have amounted to over N1 million.

The woman continued, “See the money I’ve been saving since all these years. Over two years for crying out loud. N20,000 every day. No money inside this thing. I just said I should open it. Sometimes, I put N30,000. I don’t know the amount. I always put new notes in the kolo whenever I withdraw it. All the foreign notes I put in it, see what is remaining for crying out loud. All my workers are in trouble. Everybody is in trouble, I swear.”

However, netizens expressed scepticism about her story. They questioned the size of the savings box, which appears too small to hold the purported millions.
