Kaduna Gov Introduces 'Human Resources For Health Policy' To Combat Health Challenges

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has received accolades for its outstanding contributions to promoting national unity, integration, and socio-economic development since its inception.

News About Nigeria reports that this was contained in a statement by Eddy Megwa, the director of press at the NYSC headquarters, on Friday.

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, lauded the scheme at the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Pre-Orientation Workshop held in Kaduna with the theme, Emotional Intelligence: An Indispensable Tool for a Successful Orientation Programme.

Sanni, who was represented by the Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development/Chairman, NYSC Kaduna State Governing Board, Hajia Rabi Salisu, acknowledged the scheme’s efforts in encouraging patriotism and aiding national development among graduate youths through its activities.

He commended the NYSC for organising the workshop, which would help evaluate the scheme’s performance and improve its efficiency.

The Governor reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to supporting the NYSC Kaduna Secretariat in achieving its objectives, recognising the significant impact the NYSC is having on the lives of Nigerian youths.

In his welcome address, the NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed, emphasised that the workshop provides an opportunity to review previous orientation courses, identify areas for improvement and enhance the overall performance of subsequent programmes.

General Ahmed revealed that the workshop aims to enrich the content of the orientation programme, ensuring a seamless and successful orientation course for camp participants.

He also urged participants to leverage the workshop to achieve a hitch-free programme.

The Director General acknowledged the invaluable support of stakeholders for the scheme, encouraging participants to capitalise on the invaluable resources of the workshop.

Earlier, the Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics, Alhaji Ahmed Wada Ikaka, disclosed that the orientation camp being the first point of contact for Corps members creates a lasting impression in their minds, hence the need for proactive measures that would create a wonderful experience.

Participants at the workshop include NYSC Top Management, Camp Directors and Camp Commandants Designate, State Coordinators, Heads of Planning, Research, and Statistics departments nationwide, officers from NYSC Area Offices, and the National Directorate Headquarters Abuja.
