Former Federal Commissioner of the Public Complaint Commission (PCC), Barr. Felix Alari, has stated that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is the clear choice of the people of Edo State in the September 21 governorship election, News About Nigeria reports.
He stated this while speaking in an interview with journalists in the state on Thursday.
He noted that the ruling party at the centre has had its chance at the federal level, and its performance has been, to say the least, an abysmal failure and underwhelming.
The former All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain, who recently dumped APC due to what he claimed to be the disorganised state of the party in Edo State and unprecedented hardship in the land, stated that the PDP and its candidate Asue Ighodalo offered a beacon of hope in these trying times for the state.
According to him, with a track record of competent governance and a commitment to the well-being of Edo State, the PDP is the clear choice for the future of the state.
“The All Progressives Congress (APC) has had its chance at the federal level, and its performance has been, to say the least, an abysmal failure and underwhelming.
“It is clear to all and sundry that 9 years of APC government in Nigeria at the federal level have pauperised Nigerians.
“Today many Nigerians look back at the 16 years of PDP at the federal level with great nostalgia and a strong wish that we could go back to those years.
“As Edo people goes to the pools, we cannot afford to replicate the same disappointing outcome of the APC led government at the federal level by voting APC into power in the forthcoming election,” he stated.
He, therefore, called on the citizens of the state to vote the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stating that the party prioritises the welfare of the state and its people.
