Deliver Dividends Of Democracy To Edo People – Sanwo-Olu To Okpebholo

The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has urged Lagosians and Nigerians to protect the country’s democracy, News About Nigeria reports.

He gave this charge in his democracy message via his verified page on X on Wednesday.

Sanwo-Olu enjoined the people to remember the sacrifices made by the heroes past who fought for the democratic path Nigerians walk on today.

He noted that the 12th of June is a symbol of the unity and hope of the people, including the pursuit of a better life through true democratic practices, adding that it is a day for Nigerians to renew their commitment to building a brighter future for the nation.

“As we celebrate Democracy Day, let us remember the sacrifices made by our heroes who fought for the democratic path we walk on today. Let’s join hands to protect and nurture our democracy, ensuring that their efforts were not in vain.

“June 12 symbolizes our unity, hope, and the pursuit of a better life through true democratic practices. It is a day to reflect on our progress and renew our commitment to building a brighter future for our nation,” he stated.

Sanwo-Olu, therefore, urged the people to stand together as one and believe in the potential of the country.

“Let us stand together as one, embracing our common destiny and believing in the potential of our great country. With faith in our hearts and unity in our actions, we can achieve the future we dream of.

“Together, let’s build the Nigeria of our dreams,” Sanwo-Olu added.
