LP Chieftain Laments Lack Of Water, Others In Nasarawa

A chieftain of the Labour Party (LP) in Nasarawa State, Haruna Muhammed-UbaNdoma, has lamented the worsening situation, including poor electricity supply and water scarcity in the state, News About Nigeria reports.

He made this lament while speaking to newsmen in the State Capital on Thursday.

The Chieftain stated that epileptic electricity supply and water scarcity are being experienced by the residents across the 13 local government areas of the state.

Muhammed-Uba Ndoma accused the state governor, Abdullahi Sule, of deliberately ignoring the plights of the residents despite the numerous promises he made to them during his electioneering campaigns. He added that residents of the state voted for the governor because they yearned for good governance.

According to him, the governor abandoned infrastructural projects that were waiting to be carried out across the state and instead, chose to engage in making unending and unfulfilled promises to the people even after elections had long ended.

“Even though we are not in the same political party, the governor and I have been friends for many years. But being friends with him will not stop me from speaking about the poor performance of his administration in the last five years.

“He promised to industrialise the state and ensure economic stability if he was elected into office, but everyone can see clearly that he has so far failed to deliver on his promises.

“As I speak with you now, many residents of the state do not have adequate electricity supply; they do not have clean and potable drinking water; erosion is wiping off many communities due to the absence of drainages, and unemployment is biting harder by the day as there are no jobs for the youths,” he lamented.

He further noted that the educational system in the state is suffering, adding that most of the secondary schools have no adequate teachers, and there are also no desks for the students to write or do proper studies.

He appealed to Governor Abdullahi Sule to rise and do the needful by providing the dividends of democracy to the people, as he promised during the electioneering campaigns.
