The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Europe Chapter, has appealed to Air Peace airline to extend its flight operations to other parts of Europe apart from London, News About Nigeria reports.
The governor of the council, Ambassador Collins Idahosa, made this appeal while speaking to newsmen, stating that this would make the airline more sustainable.
He urged the airline’s chairman and chief executive officer, Allen Onyema, to consider operating in other countries such as France, Italy, Sweden among others, and not just limit its operation to London only.
According to him, doing this would not only benefit Nigerians and other nationals in other part of Europe, but would also help reduce the demand for forex, and lessen fare drops.
“Having successfully obtained the Foreign Carrier Operator Permit and Third Country Operator Permit, then followed by a successful launch of the Lagos-London route a couple of months ago, we urged Air Peace’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Allen Onyema, to consider extending this feat to other parts of Europe.
“For sustainability and consolidation, Air Peace should consider flying other international routes especially other parts of Europe such as France, Italy, Sweden, Germany among others.
“Air Peace flight to other parts of Europe will not only consolidate the Lagos-London feat, it will further reduce the demand for forex and also leads to fare drops,” he said.
Idahosa noted that the federal government through the Ministry of Aviation should continue to support and encourage Air Peace and other local airlines that are capable in showing off their presence on international routes.
