The Lagos State Police Command has made an arrest in connection with an alleged debt case involving popular musician, Habeeb Okikiola, famously known as Portable, News About Nigeria reports.
Reports indicate that Portable was apprehended on Tuesday following accusations of failure to settle a debt incurred from the purchase of a G-Wagon from a car dealer in the state.
Allegedly, Portable had paid only N13 million out of the N27 million worth of the vehicle, leaving a balance of N14 million unpaid.
The car dealer, feeling aggrieved by Portable’s refusal to settle the outstanding amount, escalated the matter to the police, resulting in the singer’s arrest.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the report, stating, “The report is true. He was arrested today.”
In a video that surfaced online, Portable was seen flying over a gate to evade arrest.
