Chief Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a prominent figure within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, has called upon Nigerians not to lose hope in the administration of President Bola Tinubu, News About Nigeria reports.
Speaking to journalists in Osogbo on Sunday, Oyintiloye, a member of the defunct APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), lauded Tinubu as a “true democrat” committed to fulfilling his electoral promises.
He said that Tinubu’s leadership embodies democratic values, adding that he is confident in the president’s ability to deliver on his commitments to the Nigerian populace.
He stated that the economic policies implemented by Tinubu, including the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the naira, though seemingly burdensome, lay the groundwork for a prosperous future.
Acknowledging the current economic challenges faced by Nigerians, Oyintiloye urged citizens to maintain optimism for a brighter tomorrow.
He reassured the public that the president’s intentions were genuine and aimed at strengthening the nation’s economy for the long term.
“There is no doubt that Nigerians are facing hard times, but this is neither deliberate nor a sign of failure on the part of the President.
“For us to enjoy a prosperous Nigeria, we must be ready to sacrifice a little and that is what is currently happening.
“Mr President meant well for Nigerians. He will not gain anything by deliberately inflicting pain on Nigerians.
“All the economic policies put in place by the President that look like pain, they are actually meant to strengthen our economy.
“Don’t give up on the president. He will do better and he will continue to improve on the welfare of Nigerians,” he said.
In a plea to opposition leaders, Oyintiloye urged restraint in their rhetoric to prevent further polarisation of the country.
He called for unity and cooperation among political factions to foster national development and progress.
