Prince Harry Tasks Nigerian Students On Speaking About Mental Health

The Duke of Sussex, United Kingdom, Prince Harry, charged some Nigerian students in Abuja on Friday to speak more on mental health.

According to him, this is because the more they talk about mental health, the better for the fight against stigma.

He said this when he toured the Lightway Academy, where he and his wife, Meghan Markle, were welcomed by pupils during their visit to Nigeria.

News About Nigeria earlier reported that the Duke of Sussex and his wife visited Nigeria today (Friday) as part of his promotion for the Invictus Games.

The Invictus Games is a sporting event founded by Harry for wounded military veterans.

The Duke of Sussex founded Invictus in 2014 and since then, the games have expanded, boosting rehabilitation through sports.

Harry, a former army captain, served as a helicopter pilot in Afghanistan.

Speaking to the students today, Harry tasked them to protect their mental health at all costs.

He further charged them to always speak about mental health and to create awareness about it to help “kick the stigma away.”

According to Harry, this is because mental health affects everyone and it is an issue that requires all the necessary attention and awareness.

“If you take anything away from today, just know that mental health affects every single person. The more you talk about it, the more you can kick stigma away,” Harry stated.

After the talk with the students, the Duke, and his wife headed for a meeting with Nigerian military commanders as part of the Invictus programme.
