The Nigeria Correctional Service (NCS$ on Friday debunked news making the rounds that Bobrisky, who is currently serving a six-month jail term for abusing Naira was moved from the Ikoyi custodial centre to its other facility in Kirikiri, Lagos State, News About Nigeria reports.
According to the viral reports, the controversial cross dresser was said to have been moved from the Ikoyi Correctional Centre to Kirikiri Prison last weekend.
The report noted that the controversial crossdresser will complete his jail term in the Kirikiri facility.
However, an official of NCoS has countered the report, noting that Bobrisky is still in the Ikeja facility.
The official who spoke on anonymity, explained that that crossdresser cannot be sent to Kirikiri Prison because he did not commit a capital offence.
He further noted that inmates in Kirikiri Prison are those serving life and death sentences.
The official mentioned that since Bobrisky started his jail term in the Ikoyi Correctional Centre, he has been abiding by the rules and regulations guiding inmates in the facility so, there is nothing he has done wrong to warrant his moving to Kirikiri Prison.
The source said, “Bobrisky has not been moved, he is still here in Ikoyi. He was not sentenced to death and didn’t get a life sentence either. Those people sentenced to death and given life sentences are mostly kept in the maximum prison. That is mostly based on capital punishment. As for Bobrisky, he didn’t commit a capital offence, so why would they take him to Kirikiri.”
