One of the governorship aspirants of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Wale Akinterinwa, has canvassed support from members of the party to emerge victorious in the primaries and ultimately become the flag bearer of the party in the upcoming governorship elections, News About Nigeria reports.
Akinterinwa spoke to members of the party in Akure North and Akure South local government areas ahead of Saturday’s APC governorship primary in the state, assuring them that he would serve them beyond their expectations.
He promised to provide ample empowerment to both women and youths alike if elected, adding that his administration would prioritise the development of youths in the state through technical and financial support.
He also stated that if elected, his administration would institute a structure that would reward loyal party members, maintaining that there must be a way to care for party members.
The former finance commissioner promised to operate an inclusive administration to pave the way for the all-round development of the state, noting that the democratic system of government is one that brings goodies to its citizens.
“We will pursue the full value chain of agriculture. I will be the chief marketing officer. We will prioritise youth development. We will support our youth who are creative.
“We will give them both technical and financial support. It is not the giving of N50,000 but proper empowerment.
“The women will get meaningful empowerment. We will empower the women properly,” he promised.
He, therefore, urged members of the party to come out en masse and exercise their franchise on Saturday’s party’s primary.
