May Day: PDP Condemns Worsening Living Condition Of Workers

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged Nigerians to love and support each other during the Eid-el-Fitr celebration and beyond, News About Nigeria reports.

This was contained in a Sallah message signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, in Abuja on Wednesday.

He noted that Eid-el-Fitr is a time of rededication to a life of love, forgiveness, and other noble virtues, and urged Nigerians to allow the virtues, values, and lessons observed, inculcated, and imbibed during the Holy Ramadan Fasting to guide their everyday lives.

He also enjoined Nigerians not to lose hope or allow the hardship and misery in the country to weaken their love and support for one another, but urged them to remain resolute in the pursuit of a better, more secure, and prosperous nation.

“The Eid-el-Fitr offers us the divine pathway to re-dedicate to a life of love, forgiveness, abnegation, restraint, tolerance, temperance, unity, mutual understanding, peaceful co-existence, care and compassion for one another, and most importantly, absolute faith, trust, and total obedience to the Will and command of the Almighty Allah in all our dealings.

“The PDP urges Nigerians not to surrender to despondency or allow the hardship and misery in the country to weaken their love and support for one another but to remain resolute in their hope and pursuit of a better, more secure, and prosperous nation,” the statement partly reads.

Ologunagba also called on leaders at various levels to utilise the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr to imbibe the virtues of honesty, transparency, justice, fairness, and pursuit of the wellbeing of the citizens.

He urged well-meaning Nigerians and organisations to use the occasion to further extend the hands of love to the less privileged, the dislocated, and those hurting so that the joy of Eid-el-Fitr can reach all.

“The PDP prays for the nation and wishes Nigerians a happy Eid-el-Fitr celebration,” he added.
