Unknown attackers have murdered Dr. Kamar Abdulkadir, a lecturer in the Department of Physical and Health Education at the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), in his office, News About Nigeria reports.

According to reports, the lecturer was killed on Sunday when the attackers sneaked into his office and attacked him with a knife and hammer.

He was reportedly found dead in a pool of blood, with several injuries inflicted on his body by his killers.

Giving details on how he was when he was found, an anonymous source from the school said, “His hands were peeled off when he tried to stop the attackers from stabbing him. They also used a hammer to smash his head and his spinal cord, killing him instantly.”

The Spokesperson of the Borno State Police Command, ASP Daso Kenneth, confirmed the tragic incident in a statement released on Monday.

According to the statement, eight suspects who are connected with the murder of Kamal have been arrested.

He explained that upon receiving the details of the incident, their men swung into action immediately and arrested eight suspects in connection with the murder.

He said, “The command has received a distress call on the murder of Dr. Kamal; it was confirmed that he was murdered in his office and his car got stolen by the killers. Eight people have so far been arrested, and they are undergoing an investigation to unravel those behind the act.”

Condemning the gruesome murder of the lecturer, the PPRO revealed that an investigation is ongoing to bring the perpetrators of the heinous act to justice.
