Woman Miscarries In Police Custody 

The Kwara State Police Command announced on Wednesday the rescue of a Chinese national, PengChao Zhang, who was abducted recently by six armed men.

News About Nigeria gathered that Mr. Zhang was forcefully kidnapped by six gunmen on March 10, 2024, among other business associates at Cherish Guest House Eiyenkorin, on the outskirts of Ilorin, where he lodged.

Zhang’s rescue was made known in a statement released by the Spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Ejire Adeyemi Toun, in Ilorin today (Wednesday).

In the statement titled ‘successful rescue of kidnapped victim Pengchao Zhang,’ the Police Spokesperson revealed that through diligent investigation, the Kwara State police command was able to rescue him yesterday (March 19, 2024).

The statement partly reads, “The Kwara State Police Command is pleased to announce a significant breakthrough in the recent Kidnap incident that occurred in Eiyenkorin, Ilorin, Kwara State. On the 10th of March, 2024, six armed men forcefully abducted Mr Peng Chao Zhang (also known as Williams Kaka amongst his business associates), a Chinese national who lodged at Cherish Guest House in Eiyenkorin, Ilorin, sparking concerns and fear within the community.

“Through diligent and coordinated efforts, the command’s tactical teams and vigilantes executed a series of strategic searches and investigations leading to the safe rescue of the victim in the early hours of 19th March, 2024.”

The statement further revealed that the victim had been reunited with his family unharmed.

While reiterating its commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and properties in the state, the police also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities promptly.
