Powerful People Interested In Mohbad’s Case — Odumosu

The family of the late Afro-pop sensation, Mr. Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad, has formally initiated legal proceedings to conduct a DNA test on his son, Liam Aloba.

Mohbad passed away under mysterious circumstances on September 12, 2023.

In an official statement, Monisola Odumosu, the head of Aloba’s legal team, disclosed that the family has filed an application at the Family Court of the Ikorodu Magistrate Court (MKD/31/FAM/2024), officially listed as Joseph Aloba v. Cynthia Omowunmi Aloba.

The application seeks a court order for a deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) test to establish the paternity of Master Liam Aloba, Mohbad’s son.

“The family, represented by the deceased father, is seeking an order of the court directing that a DNA test be conducted concerning the paternity of Master Liam Aloba in a recognized and accredited government or private medical facility within Lagos State, Nigeria, at the expense of the applicant,” said Odumosu.

The family is also requesting an order compelling Mrs. Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba to submit herself and Liam Aloba for the DNA test at any recognised and accredited medical facility in Lagos, with expenses covered by the applicant.

Additionally, they are seeking permission for the Chief Medical Officer/Chief Pathologist in charge of Mohbad’s remains at the Military Hospital Yaba Lagos to take samples for a DNA test.

Efforts to serve the court process on Mrs. Wunmi Aloba were unsuccessful on Friday, March 8, 2024, at her Lekki residence.

The legal team said that they are diligently pursuing justice and urged those invested in the case to maintain peace.

Mohbad, who was 27 years old at the time of his demise, gained prominence with hit singles like ‘Peace’, ‘Feel Good’, ‘Ponmo’, and ‘KPK (Ko Por Ke)’ in collaboration with Rexxie.
