Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa revealed on Saturday that the ongoing 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) is one of the best he has experienced so far, News About Nigeria reports.
The captain of the Nigerian team said this even though he has not played and has been on the bench throughout the Super Eagles’ march to the final at the ongoing 2023 AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast.
“For me, I think this is one of my best AFCON tournaments. It has had a lot of surprises from the beginning until the very end,” he stated.
Musa also stated that the Super Eagles deserve to win Sunday’s match against the host country, Ivory Coast.
Speaking to newsmen in Abidjan, Musa applauded the Super Eagles team for giving their best since the beginning of the 2023 AFCON match.
In tomorrow’s match against the Elephants of Ivory Coast, he noted that he is enthusiastic that Nigeria will win because they deserve to win.
He further stated that the Super Eagles have been able to study the elephants of Ivory Coast and would tackle them based on their observations.
He also noted that the team is ready to give their best in the finals and hopes that they will bring the cup back to Nigeria, as it is the most important of the matches.
In his own words, “For us, we just have to look back at the game we played against them, see what they changed and see what we can do with that. The most important thing is to win the game tomorrow (Sunday). It is more important for us Nigerians. We deserve it from the very first day, so we’re going out to give our very best.”
