Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has assured the people of the state that his administration will work for the benefit of all and be committed to doing so, News About Nigeria reports.

The governor stated this while addressing residents of the state who gathered at the Sultan Abubakar III International Airport to welcome him and his entourage back to the state on Sunday.

Recall that the Supreme Court had affirmed him as the winner of the 2023 governorship election in the state.

Governor Aliyu expressed his joy in the judgement of the Supreme Court, stating that it is a testimony to the just and fair judicial process in the country.

“The judgment is a clear testimony that the judiciary is just and fair in their judgement,” he said.

He also expressed his gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and his Vice, Senator Kashim Shettima, for ensuring that justice is delivered accordingly without any interference.

Appreciating his father, Senator Aliyu Wamakko, he noted that the Senator’s unwavering and total belief in him has been his pillar and motivation to do well and serve his people.

He further called on the opposition parties to put the elections behind them and partner with his administration in taking the state to a greater height.

“Let me use the opportunity to call on the opposition party in the state to join hands together with me in making the state a better one,” he urged.

Governor Aliyu also assured the people of the state that his administration will work continuously till 2027 to improve the state and make it way better than he met it in all ramifications.

The governor was accompanied by the leader of the party in the state, Aliyu Wamakko, and then proceeded to the Gawon-nama residence of Wamakko.
