Lagos Pastor Feyi Daniels Bags Life Imprisonment For Raping Church Members

On Friday, the founder of ‘I Reign Christian Ministry’, Bishop Feyi Daniels, bagged life imprisonment for raping two of his church members.

The sentence was passed on the cleric by Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Lagos State Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court in Ikeja on Friday.

The court in the judgement held that “Rape carries a mandatory life imprisonment and sexual assault carries a jail term of three years, which can’t alleviate the harm on your victims.”

According to the judgement of the court, the pastor was found guilty of the offence of sexual assault against two members of his church, even though he pleaded not guilty to the allegations.

The Court also held that the victims were able to present their case with witnesses to prove that they were raped by the pastor.

In the judgement, Justice Oshodi also ordered that Pastor Daniel’s name be registered in the Lagos State Sex Offenders Register.

He also held that the convict will serve his jail term at the Nigeria correctional center, at the Kirikiri maximum facility where he is currently being detained.

The judge noted that the victims fell prey to the pastor’s sexual assault because he was a figure they respected and looked up to as a spiritual head.

News About Nigeria gathered that the Ikeja sexual offences and domestic violence court had remanded the cleric in April 2023 pending the determination of his case.

The convict was arraigned on a two-count charge bordering on rape, and the offence contravenes Section 260(2) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
