Senator Ndume Kicks Against Hike In Electricity Tarif

Following the approval of the relocation of the headquarters of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and some departments of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) from the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja to Lagos state, the senator representing Borno South Senatorial, Ali Ndume, has revealed that the relocation was the handiwork of some ‘Lagos Cartels.’

Ndume, who faulted the planned relocation of FAAN and some departments of the CBN from Abuja to Lagos, stated that it was a wrong decision that President Bola Tinubu is being pressured to approve.

The senator, who said this on Tuesday during an interview with Channels Television, added that President Tinubu is being poorly advised by “Lagos boys” in the corridors of power who want to build their state.

In his own words, “All these Lagos boys who are thinking that Lagos is Nigeria are just misinforming and advising the President wrongly. Those political cartels that are in the corridors of power are trying to misinform the president.”

Ndume further noted that the advisers of the President are not doing him any good because the wrong decisions they are helping him to make now definitely have consequences in the future.

The Chief Whip of the Senate also stated that the relocation of the offices doesn’t make sense as they are supposed to be located in the nation’s capital, not any other state.

He therefore called on the President to reverse the approval of the relocation, noting that allowing it means that he wants to create a nation with two capital cities, which is impossible.

News About Nigeria gathered that the departments of the CBN were slated for relocation because the apex bank wants to decongest its head office in Abuja.

Also, the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, said that the relocation of the FAAN headquarters from Abuja to Lagos is to help stop the wastage of public funds as the Authority does not have a large building in Abuja that would contain all its directors like that of Lagos.
