Benue Court Restrains APC From Dissolving State Executive Committee Led by Augustine Agada

A 20-year-old nursing mother, identified as Mercy Mwuese, and her madam, a 65-year-old retired nurse, identified as Mrs. Esther Amali, have both been stabbed to death by a suspected cultist, simply identified as Eko, in the Makurdi area of Benue State, News About Nigeria reports.

An eyewitness who pleaded anonymity disclosed this, stating that the unfortunate incident happened at about 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Recounting the sad incident, the eyewitness disclosed that the murder was an extension of an ugly and bitter war between rival cult groups in Makurdi.

The source noted that the nursing mother, who is also the maid of the late Mrs. Esther Amali, had been dating a member of a cult gang with whom she eventually had a three-month-old child.

According to the source, this angered the suspect, who is their neighbour and a member of another rival gang.

The source stated that the relationship between Mercy and the cultist, who according to him, had a hand in the death of one of the members of his cult group, led the suspect to harass her continuously.

The eyewitness disclosed that the suspect on Sunday scaled the fence of the home of the woman and attacked her maid with a knife while she was washing clothes, noting that when the nursing mother tried to raise the alarm and call for help, the suspect stabbed her severally and before her madam could get to the scene, she was dead.

“As Mrs. Amali tried to raise alarm for help the young man grabbed and stabbed her severally also and fled; leaving them in their pool of blood.” The source stated.

The source further revealed that, upon trying to intervene, the suspect also stabbed Mrs. Amali several times, who died on the way to the hospital.
