Josephina Otabor, widely known as Phyna, the winner of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 7, has responded to the backlash she got regarding her claim of rejecting a N5 million offer at a nightclub, News About Nigeria reports.
The reality star made the revelation during the last episode of ‘Spill With Phyna’, saying that she rejected N5 million in exchange for sex.
BBNaija housemate DeeOne, was one of the people who reacted to Phyna’s claim, urging her to provide evidence of the rejection.
In a recent interview with Cool FM Nigeria, Lagos, during ‘The Big Friday Show with Tacha’, Phyna addressed the controversy and dismissed the doubts, stating that Nigerians sometimes act ‘somehow’.
She stated that N5 million is equivalent to $5,000, which she casually referred to as ‘change’.
Phyna claimed that she could easily earn such an amount comfortably from the comfort of her home without the need to step out.
“How much is N5 million? N5 million is just $5,000. N5 million? That’s change. N5 million is something I can make in my comfort zone, in my house. I don’t need to open my door to go and make N5 million,” she said.
In the same interview, Phyna shared her desire to identify as a man in her next life, despite being a woman physically.
She explained that societal stereotypes and biases against women motivated her preference.
“I am a woman, but most of the time, I want to identify as a man. In my next world, I want to be a man. I am a woman physically, but I can identify as a man because most times they just try to talk down on you because you are a woman,” she said.
Phyna also revisited a recent social media disagreement with popular singer Davido, highlighting the importance of standing up for herself and rejecting societal expectations.
“And personally, when you do something to me that I don’t like, no matter who you are, I will call you out. For example, what happened between me and David [Davido] when he said he didn’t know me. Everybody said, ‘Phyna, you should have taken the opportunity to introduce yourself.’ No! Because he is David (Davido) doesn’t mean I have to kiss arse,” she said.
Phyna concluded by expressing her desire for women to be treated fairly in society.
