Tinubu Urges Nigerians To Stay Positive Amid Challenges

President Bola Tinubu has charged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to leave no stone unturned in ensuring that all those involved in the N585 million scandal are exposed and brought to book, News About Nigeria reports.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, made this known while speaking on TVC’s programme, Politics on Sunday.

He noted that the President will not be lenient with anyone found guilty in the ongoing investigation of financial infractions in the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation and its Social Investment Programmes.

He disclosed that President Bola Tinubu has also ordered that a thorough investigation be carried out into all aspects of the financial transactions of the ministry and other agencies under it.

“Anywhere this investigation takes the EFCC and other investigating authorities, that is where the investigation must go, and the President will take action accordingly,” he said.

Ngelale further stated that President Bola Tinubu will not tolerate any form of indiscipline, corruption, dereliction of duty, or any other form of incompetence from the members of his administration, within the Federal Executive Council, FEC.

Recall that the President had earlier suspended the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu, over the payment of about N585 million into a private account.

The President also tasked a panel headed by the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, with the responsibility of conducting a comprehensive diagnostic on the financial architecture of the ministry and ensuring that all institutional frailties within it are eliminated.

According to him, this would win back the lost public confidence in the initiative.
