Tinubu Appoints New CEOs For Art, Culture, And Creative Economy Agencies

Nigeria's Economy Gradually Becoming Better Under Tinubu - Information Minister

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of eleven new Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) to lead various agencies under the Ministry of Art, Culture, and Creative Economy, News About Nigeria reports.

Presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale confirmed the appointments in a statement issued on Friday.

The President encouraged the appointments to carry out their duties with the utmost professionalism, diligence, and patriotism to strengthen and revitalise the creative industry.

The new CEOs for the Art, Culture, and Creative Economy sectors are as follows:

Tola Akerele – Director-General, National Theatre

Dr. Shaibu Husseini – Director-General, National Films and Censors Board

Obi Asika – Director-General, National Council for Arts and Culture

Aisha Adamu Augie – Director-General, Centre for Black and African Arts and Culture

Ekpolador-Ebi Koinyan – Chief Conservator, National War Museum

Ahmed Sodangi – Director-General, National Gallery of Art

Chaliya Shagaya – Director-General, National Institute of Archaeology and Museums Studies

Hajiya Khaltume Bulama Gana – Artistic Director, National Troupe of Nigeria

Otunba Biodun Ajiboye – Director-General, National Institute for Cultural Orientation

Ali Nuhu – Managing Director, Nigerian Film Corporation

Ramatu Abonbo Mohammed – Director-General, National Commission for Museums and Monuments.

In another development, President Tinubu approved the allocation of N683.4 billion as the 2024 Intervention Funds for public tertiary education institutions across the country.

The Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Sonny Echono, made this announcement during a strategic planning meeting with heads of beneficiary institutions in Abuja.

Echono specified that 90.75% of the funds would be directly disbursed, 8.94% designated for special projects, and 2.27% allocated for stabilisation to address emerging issues.

Each university is set to receive N1,906,944,930.00, each polytechnic N1,165,355,235.00, and each college of education N1,398,426,282.00 for the 2024 intervention cycle.
