Bode George Tasks Tinubu, PDP Stakeholders To Intervene In Rivers Crisis

The Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has stated that the situation in the country does not call for politics right now but a communal effort to put an end to the insecurity plaguing the country, News About Nigeria reports.

He made this known while speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday.

He noted that President Bola Tinubu has a lot of work to do in bringing peace to the country and urged him to put aside politics and put the welfare of the country first.

He further noted that the state of the country is not one to be proud of, as the country is in a completely shambolic situation with perpetual despair and despondency.

Bode George pointed out that the country keeps deteriorating with intense hunger, stressing that it is not a good place for the country.

The Chieftain maintained that the insecurity in the country has gone beyond control and needs urgent attention to quell the storm that is brewing in the country.

According to him, it is time for Nigerians to take back the country from both the people and situations threatening the peace and stability of Nigeria.

Citing some of the objectives of President Bola Tinubu for the year, including national defence, internal security, and job creation, George urged Nigerians to give him more time to be able to fulfil the promises he made.

He further urged the president to employ modern technologies that are available to make governance more effective and efficient.

“You need equipment; you need surveillance. It will be a combination of modern technology. You don’t have to be physically there; you monitor from your control room things that are happening,” he said.
