In a startling turn of events at a Las Vegas courtroom, Deobra Redden, a three-time felon, launched a violent assault on Judge Mary Kay Holthus during his sentencing hearing, News About Nigeria has learnt.

The shocking incident occurred after the judge denied Redden probation for his conviction of attempted battery with substantial bodily harm.

The courtroom drama unfolded around 11 a.m. when Redden’s attorney proposed probation, a suggestion promptly rejected by Judge Holthus, who believed it was time for the repeat offender to face different consequences.

Suddenly, Redden sprinted towards the bench, arms outstretched, leaping over it to tackle the judge to the ground.

The wild footage captured American and Nevada state flags crashing down as chaos ensued.

Several individuals wrestled with Redden, who continued to yell profanities at Judge Holthus.

Court officers managed to drag him away momentarily, but he broke free, attempting to reach the judge again.

The struggle escalated, with punches exchanged amidst the disarray.

While Judge Holthus suffered a minor head injury, sources confirmed she was doing okay. A marshal also sustained injuries during the fracas.

Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson praised the heroic efforts of those who came to the judge’s aid, emphasizing the extremely violent behavior displayed by Redden.

Facing new charges of battery and battery on a protected person, Redden is due back in court on Thursday at 9 a.m. as he remains in custody at the Clark County Jail.
