Zamfara Governor Approves 13th Month Salaries For Civil Servants

Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has given his approval for the payment of a 13th-month salary to all civil servants in the state, according to an official release on Thursday by the Head of Service, Ahmed Liman.

News About Nigeria gathered that the announcement was made through a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Idris, describing the decision as a ‘remarkable’ one.

The move is seen as part of the state government’s commitment to the welfare of workers and an effort to motivate the workforce for higher performance.

In the statement, Idris mentioned, “Today, Governor Dauda Lawal approved the immediate payment of end-of-the-year bonuses for public and civil servants in Zamfara State. This gesture is meant to boost the workers’ morale and provide them with financial support during the holiday season. It is worth noting that this is the first time in Zamfara’s history that the state government is paying workers a 13th-month salary.”

The payment of the 13th-month salary is considered a significant step in enhancing working conditions, increasing salaries, and providing career advancement opportunities for government workers in Zamfara State.

“The payment of the 13th-month salary is just one of many initiatives aimed at empowering workers and promoting economic growth in Zamfara state,” it added.

In a related development, the Abia State Government has also announced a special Christmas and New Year package for workers in the state.

Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, disclosed during a press briefing after the Executive Council meeting in Umuahia that Governor Alex Otti is fully committed to improving the welfare of workers.

“Government is committed to making Abia workers happy,” said Commissioner Kanu, adding that the December salary would be paid with the 13th month.
