Plateau State Governor, Governor Caleb Mutfwang, has assured Nigerians that an end will come to the terrorising of communities in the state and the senseless killings of residents in the state, News About Nigeria reports.
The governor stated this in a statement shared via his X handle on Friday.
He further disclosed that the federal and state governments have taken steps to see to it that the killings end and those behind the attack are arrested.
Speaking via his X handle, governor Mutfwang noted that he had great hopes that the attacks would come to an end soon, adding that President Bola Tinubu had treated the attacks as an urgent matter, responded to the call by the governor, and sent Vice President Kashim Shettima to access the situation.
Expressing his regrets that the attacks and killings cannot be undone, the governor maintained that they will not be pardoned and the perpetrators will face the full wrath of the law when caught.
He further stated that the recent happenings were uncalled for, unprovoked, and barbaric.
He reiterated his hope that the federal government will fish out the perpetrators as the attacks were not carried out by ghosts but by human beings.
He, however, noted that after he met with President Bola Tinubu, decisions were made and he will ensure these decisions are carried out to the latter.
“I have discussed with Mr President, and there are many decisions we have taken and agreed upon, and I will not rest until those decisions are implemented,” he said.
He therefore assured the people that everything would be done to ensure the wrongs of the past are righted, adding that people who are in immediate need of health care will be attended to.
