Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Geidam, has assured the people of Plateau that justice will be served to those behind the senseless killings in the state, News About Nigeria reports.
In a statement signed by the Minister, he described the unfortunate incident where people in the state were killed by bandits on Christmas Eve as a tragedy and a great loss to the state.
He stated that President Bola Tinubu was saddened by the incident and disclosed that, by the orders of the president, no stone will be left unturned in ensuring that both the collaborators and prime suspects involved in this crime against humanity are apprehended and dealt with according to the law.
Geidam, while expressing his condolences to the families who lost loved ones in the killings, maintained that the government was in solidarity and unity with the people during this difficult time.
He stated that the actions of those he described as enemies of the country have caused multiple families to be in pain and sorrow at a time they should be celebrating.
The Senator commended the security agents who worked bravely to secure the affected villages and also wished the survivors and those who were still in the hospital a speedy recovery.
Ha assured the people that steps are being taken to further train and carry out reforms of the security agents in the state, especially the police, noting that they will continue to collaborate with other stakeholders to address the issue of insecurity plaguing the state.
He therefore urged the people to cooperate with the security agencies and provide vital information, if any, maintaining that this will go a long way towards assisting in the arrest of these callous criminals who are currently on the run.
