The United Nations Peace Ambassador, Ikenna Offor, has tasked lawmaker Senator Tony Nwoye with fixing the deplorable state of the Ikenna Offor Road, in the Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State, News About Nigeria reports.
The UN ambassador gave this charge to the lawmaker in a press statement on Wednesday, lamenting the fact that the ever-busy road has been in a deplorable condition for years without getting attention from any elected lawmaker from the constituency.
He noted that the deplorable condition of the road had become so bad and needed urgent attention from dedicated and thoroughbred elected representatives like Senator Nwoye.
According to him, the Senator needed to begin work on fixing the road as it fell within his constituency and jurisdiction and was also causing lots of difficulties for those who plied the road.
He added that the poor state of the road also discouraged people from coming to the community, noting that this can lead to a loss of opportunities for both the community and its people.
He commended the senator for his efforts in handling projects that are within his constituency and jurisdiction with commitment and dedication since he assumed office as a distinguished senator in the red chamber of the National Assembly without considering political party affiliations.
He noted that Senator Tony Nwoye, who represents Anambra North senatorial district, is an asset to the community and appealed to him to include the repair of the road in the projects the lawmaker has mapped out for execution now that the dry season is here.
