The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has expressed his deepest sadness over the passing of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, stating that it was a loss that will take the people a long time to recover from, News About Nigeria reports.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, on Wednesday in Abuja, the APC chairman stated that Governor Rotimi, who was popularly known as Aketi, has left a void in the nation’s political landscape.
According to him, it was a great loss, not only to Ondo State but also to the entire country, the progressive family, the legal profession, and the ruling APC.
Reflecting on the contributions the governor made to public service, Ganduje noted that Akeredolu possessed an unflinching commitment to the principles of democracy and was determined to make a lasting impact on the lives of the people he served, Ondo State, and its citizens.
He maintained that Governor Akeredolu, throughout his tenure, had exhibited exceptional leadership skills, fostered economic growth, and implemented critical infrastructure projects, while also championing initiatives that enhanced the standard of living for the people of Ondo State.
He extended his condolences to the family of the late governor, his friends and loved ones, the people of Ondo State, and the government at large, assuring them of his and the party’s support at this trying time.
He maintained that his legacies will not be forgotten and his contributions to Ondo State will be forever cherished.
He urged the people to continue to work together, build on the firm foundation the governor has laid, and strive for the progress and prosperity of Ondo State.
