Remi Tinubu Cautions Parents Against Calling Nigeria Poor

The First Lady of Nigeria, Remi Tinubu, has cautioned parents against calling Nigeria a poor country, especially in front of children, News About Nigeria reports.

The First Lady made this appeal to parents while speaking at a Christmas party organised for the children of Nana Berry Orphanage in Abuja on Saturday.

She maintained that the duty of parents and guardians was to give hope to their children and not lament in front of them.

Remi noted that the issue of poverty has been overrated and taken out of context by Nigerians, adding that it is disconcerting and also polluting the hearts of the young.

She therefore urged parents and guardians to give hope to the children of Nigeria and show them a positive life, maintaining that the country is entering a glorious year and those who believe that it is going to be glorious will enjoy it.

She further stated that 2024 is a glorious year for Nigeria and its citizens, and therefore the concern of every Nigerian should be how to transform the lives of the young ones.

She emphasised the need to quit talking about poverty in front of the children, maintaining that Nigeria is not a poor nation and those who are wealthy should also take care of the poor ones and make them wealthy.

She enjoined parents to train their children in the right way, tasking them to ensure they remind the children about the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ, and how the love of Christ made him lay down his life for mankind.
