Ondo APC: Aiyedatiwa Lauds Party Members Over Massive Turnout At Primary Election

A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Barrister Sola Ajisafe, has warned the acting governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa against reshuffling the State Executive Council (EXCO), stating that it is against the constitution to do that, News About Nigeria reports.

The lawyer said this while speaking at a radio programme tagged ‘Heart of the Matter’ in Akure, the state capital.

According to him, the move by the acting governor to reshuffle the state executive council came off as wanting to undermine the governor, Rotimi Akeredolu and to favour his supporters in the government.

The APC Chieftain noted that the memos that emanated from the office of the acting governor, which included the freezing of the local governments and Local Council Development Area (LCDA) accounts and that of the Chief of Protocol (COP) to Akeredolu, were capable of undermining the office of the governor, which according to him was wrong on all counts.

He further stated that the actions of non-state actors, which included a protest calling for the resignation of Akeredolu, were a pointer to the fact that Aiyedatiwa would do whatever it took to succeed Akeredolu.

Ajisafe maintained that after the first meeting that President Bola Tinubu had with the leaders over the crisis in the state, the acting governor made no effort to reconcile all the warring factions but rather recruited non-state actors to protest to demand the resignation of Governor Akeredolu.

He stated that the actions of the acting governor were contrary to the 1999 constitution and the agreement reached with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the peace meeting held in Abuja.
