The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has promised to provide the 13th-month salary to civil servants in the state as a special package ahead of the New Year, News About Nigeria gathered.
Governor Makinde made this announcement during the 2023 Christmas Carol Service held at the Remembrance Arcade, Government House, Agodi, Ibadan, on Sunday night, themed ‘Unto Us a Child is Born’.
Taking to his verified X account, Governor Makinde expressed gratitude to God for His mercies and faithfulness throughout the challenging year, economically.
He tweeted, “We held the 2023 Festival of Carols and Nine Lessons, themed “Unto Us a Child is Born” tonight.
“The service gave us another opportunity to thank God for His mercies and faithfulness this year even though it has been a tough year economically.”
It’s noteworthy that Governor Makinde’s administration has consistently paid the 13th-month salary since 2019, demonstrating a commitment to the welfare of civil servants in the state.
In a related development, the Abia State Government has also announced a special Christmas and New Year package for workers in the state.
