Wike Accuses Fubara Of Ignoring Court Rulings, Warns Of Anarchy

The governorship candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election in Rivers State, Beatrice Itubo, has appealed to the former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, and the current governor, Siminalayi Fubara, to resolve their differences, News About Nigeria reports.

Itubo, a former chairperson of the state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Port Harcourt, stated that the state will suffer for it if the feud persists.

She expressed her concerns that the lingering political crisis between the governor and the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) was detrimental to the people of Rivers State.

Citing the case of two elephants fighting and the grass suffering for it, she noted that the people of the state bore the greater part of the outcome of their crisis and urged them to sheath their swords.

She further noted that the lingering crisis is beginning to affect the businesses and livelihoods of the people, adding that lately, people have been afraid to come into the state due to the war going on between the two statesmen.

According to her, people looking to enjoy the holiday are no longer considering Rivers State as an option; the hotels are becoming empty, and other businesses are not left out of the consequences of the crisis, as they are also beginning to feel the impact of the trouble that is going on.

Itubo added that if nothing is done to put out the fire currently brewing between the politicians, a time will come when the residents of the state will no longer be able to leave their houses for fear of being caught in the crossfire in the hostilities.
