The Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, Malam Mele Kyari, has appealed to stakeholders, well-wishers, and Nigerians in general to stop sending him congratulatory messages following his reappointment.

This was conveyed in a statement signed by the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPCL, Olufemi O. Soneye, and publicized via the Group’s official X Account on Wednesday.

According to the GCEO, who expressed gratitude to stakeholders and Nigerians for contributing to his reappointment, the recurrent congratulatory messages are not relevant.

Thus, he emphasized the need for all stakeholders to focus their commitments on driving revenue growth and fortifying resilience for the Naira and the economy.

Also, while acknowledging his reappointment as a renewed challenge, Kyari noted that he is committed to stabilizing the oil industry and enhancing service delivery for increased revenue.

He, however, appealed to stakeholders in the oil sector and fellow Nigerians to support the company under his leadership to ensure the success of its mandate.

The statement partly reads, “The GCEO kindly requests all parties concerned to refrain from issuing congratulatory messages on his reappointment. He emphasizes the necessity for all stakeholders’ commitment to drive revenue growth and fortify resilience for the Naira and the economy.”

News About Nigeria reports that Kyari is the Group General Manager of the Crude Oil Marketing Division (COMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and was first appointed by the Buhari Administration as the new Group Managing Director of NNPC and recently reappointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the head of the Group.
