NDLEA Storms Drug Party In Osun, Nabs Suspects

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have reportedly nabbed some suspected drug dealers following their recent invasion of an illicit drug party in Osun State, News About Nigeria reports.

The operation was reported to have taken place at a lounge in Osogbo, popularly known as Berrymist Lounge, located at Ofatedo Area in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State. The alleged party, tagged ‘Unholy Alliance for Stoners and Drunkards,’ was reportedly slated to be held at this location.

As detailed in a statement issued from the headquarters of the agency and signed by the NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, the organizers of the alleged party were reportedly found with drug exhibits intended for sale and consumption at the purported party venue, which was supposed to span throughout the night.

According to reports, the aim of the party was primarily for the exhibition of illicit substances to potential buyers.

The NDLEA also listed the suspects as Ikotu Omolayo, 25; Fola Olabode, 30; Akorede Adunni Ajibola, 22; and the main organizer of the Unholy Alliance drug party, 30, Gbemileke Adelola, popularly known as BIG LHYNZ.

The drug agency also disclosed that the arrested individuals are currently in police custody.

Meanwhile, the management of the lounge where the suspects were arrested has been invited for further investigation before additional proceedings take place in court.

However, similar cases of illicit drug abuse and consumption were also reported by the agency in Lagos, Ogun, Edo, Anambra, Kogi, Ondo, and Ekiti, where over two tons of illicit substances were recovered in coordinated operations across the states.
