Tinubu Approves Landmark Health Sector Reforms

The Yoruba socio-cultural and political organisation, Afenifere, has urged the Federal Government, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to restructure the country, stating that it would help the various regions in Nigeria flourish, News About Nigeria reports.

The group made this known on Sunday in a nine-point communique issued at the Sagamu private residence of a former governor of Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel.

The group, which noted that restructuring the country was the only way the Yoruba people would realize and bring to fulfilment their God-given potential and dreams, called on  Tinubu to help them actualize this dream.

They reminded the president of the unwavering support given to him by the group, which was pivotal in helping him achieve his presidential ambition, and urged him to work towards bringing his lifelong aspiration of restructuring the country to fruition.

The group further maintained that it would be an honour to keep up with their work of acting as the eagle to monitor economic and social development by the tiers of government in the Southwest geopolitical zone.

This, they stated, while expressing their gratitude to other leaders for their progressive disposition towards the development of Yorubaland.

The Afenifere group reiterated the need for Nigeria to undergo restructuring, maintaining that only then will the Yorubas achieve their full potential.

They further condemned the promiscuity of the Baales and Obas in the selling of lands to those who were not part of the Yoruba nation.

The group also promised to revitalize the speaking of the Yoruba Language among the youngsters, stating that the Yoruba language is to be cherished, protected and promoted.
