The Delta State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has declared a carpenter identified simply as Orunor, wanted for allegedly beating his apprentice to death in the Sapele area of Delta State.

News About Nigeria gathered that the carpenter, who owns a workshop along the new Ogorode Road in Sapele, claimed to have been disciplining his apprentice, simply identified as Onome, for arriving late to work.

It was reported that the carpenter, Orunor, further accused his apprentice of theft, maintaining that the apprentice had stolen his ATM card.

According to a source who pleaded anonymity, when Onome got home that day after the close of work, he reported the day’s events to his parents and also complained of body pains and feeling sick.

His parents disclosed that they had made arrangements to get him to the hospital for a proper check-up, but unfortunately, before the arrangements were done, Onome gave up the ghost.

It was discovered that the carpenter, Orunor, upon hearing the news of Onome’s demise, locked up his workshop and fled and is still on the run.

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, disclosed that the suspects have been declared wanted, and an arrest will be made immediately when he is apprehended.

He also urged anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the carpenter, Orunor, not to hesitate to share such information with the police, as it would aid in the apprehension of the suspect and bring justice to late Onome and his family.
