Three individuals have been apprehended by operatives of the Enugu State Police Command over the alleged molestation of a three-year-old girl at Tenderlink School, Trans-Ekulu, Enugu State, News About Nigeria reports.

The suspects, consisting of the three-year-old girl’s female teacher, her school bus attendant, and the driver, were arrested by the police after bloodstains were discovered on her private parts when the school bus dropped her off at home on Tuesday, 14th November.

Daniel Ndukwe, the Police Public Relations Officer and spokesperson for the command, stated that the arrest of the three suspects is part of the ongoing investigation into the sexual molestation of the child.

He communicated this information in a statement via his X handle on Friday.

According to him, police investigations revealed that the three-year-old girl sustained physical injuries, and bloodstains were observed on her private parts.

The Public Relations Officer pointed out that the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department (State CIID), under the instructions of CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, is committed to conducting a comprehensive investigation.

The aim is to ensure that everyone involved in the sexual assault of the minor is prosecuted and punished accordingly.

Officer Ndukwe also mentioned that the pupil’s female teacher, bus attendant, and driver have all been detained for questioning, as parents of other children in the school have come forward with similar complaints.

The commissioner denounced such acts as evil and unimaginable, emphasizing that such behaviours should be condemned by the school authorities, as teachers are there to educate and protect children from such harm.

The State government has, however, ordered the closure of the school pending the completion of the investigations.

The Commissioner of Police commended the government for this decision and promised to ensure that all individuals found guilty face the full wrath of the law.
