The Gombe State Police Command has paraded four suspects in connection with the brutal murder of 16-year-old Alamin Ahmadu, News About Nigeria gathered.

The suspects were identified as Ahmadu Ibrahim (25), Babuka Abubakar (35), Abdulsalam Mohammed (28), and Muhammadu Abubakar (28), all residents of Liji quarters in Yalmatu Deba Local Government Area of Gombe State.

The revelation came after the anti-kidnapping squad received a formal complaint from Ahmadu Yaya, the father of the deceased from Arawa quarters.

Yaya reported that unknown people had contacted him, claiming to have kidnapped his son and demanding a ransom of N5 million for his release.

According to ASP Mahid Abubakar, the Police Public Relations Officer, Alamin Ahmadu, a student at Ubaida Academy Arawa, left home for an errand and never returned.

The suspects were apprehended following swift action by the anti-kidnapping unit led by the Officer in Charge of Anti-Kidnapping.

Further investigation revealed that Ahmadu Ibrahim, an employee at a rice mill company under the victim’s father, was the mastermind behind the kidnapping.

The suspect confessed to abducting Alamin and taking him to Lijji Hill. Tragically, Alamin was killed when his father failed to pay the agreed ransom of N700,000 as negotiated over the phone.

The suspects are currently in police custody and will face prosecution in court for their alleged involvement in the heinous crime.
