A representative for the Kanke/Kanam/Pankshin federal constituency in Plateau state, Yusuf Gagdi, has advised the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) against blaming their losses on the judiciary, News About Nigeria reports.
In a statement released by his media office on November 14th, 2023, he condemned the PD members in Plateau state for holding the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, responsible for their tribunal losses.
Gagdi clarified that the PDP’s losses were self-inflicted and that the party members were confused in blaming the judiciary.
He added that attempts to drag his name into the PDP’s loss would not be accepted.
The statement also clarified that Gagdi’s catchphrase, “We know whom they know, but they don’t know whom we know,” is a way of accepting the principal’s trust in God as the giver of power to whom he pleases, no matter how the enemies may try to bring such a person down.
Moreover, the statement warned against undermining the judiciary and casting aspersions on the President of the Court of Appeal, whom Nigerians hold in high esteem.
He said the president of the court of appeal was not part of the panel handling the appeals from Plateau state.
It also urged the PDP and its social media hounds to stop looking for scapegoats and to desist from casting aspersions on the representative.
It emphasized that Nigerian courts are courts of law, not of sentiments and emotions.
Finally, the statement expressed satisfaction with the appeal court’s judgment and anticipated a possible victory at the Supreme Court for their gubernatorial candidate.
Gagdi concludes by reminding the PDP and its hirelings that their shenanigans cannot intimidate the court to act against the law and laid down precedents.
